How to commission a pet portrait

When it’s time to start your drawing, I’ll let you know and share the estimated completion and shipping dates.
Process, payment & shipping
The process begins when you submit a commission request through my form. I’ll get in touch to chat through the details, confirm the timeframe, and together we’ll choose the best reference photo for your portrait.
The timeline begins once I start your drawing. After receiving your form, I’ll share an estimated start date based on my current waitlist.
To secure your spot, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. The remaining balance will be due once your portrait is complete and you’ve approved the final drawing.
Each portrait typically takes around 3 weeks, depending on size and detail. Once it’s finished, I’ll send a photo for your approval before final touches are made.
After the final payment is received, your portrait will be carefully packaged for safe shipping. You’ll receive tracking details so you can follow its journey home, along with updates throughout the process.

Medium: Colored pencils on 300gsm paper
Subject: One pet

Turnaround: 2–4 weeks once the finalized reference photo has been sent (please message me if you need it earlier - rush requests may not always be possible)

Place your order & send photos: Once your order is placed, please send me photos of your pet. If you would like guidance on choosing a photo, we can work on that together! A clear, well-lit headshot is best, especially one that captures your pet’s expression and personality.
Creating your portrait: I will begin the drawing once your order and reference photos are received.
Completion & approval: Once the portrait is complete, I’ll send you images of the final piece.
Shipping: When you’re happy with the finished portrait, I’ll carefully package and ship it to you!

5% of every sale is donated to an animal shelter, helping pets in need.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact me within 3 days of delivery and include clear photos of the damage and packaging. I’ll do my best to help. Please note that Studio Younie is not responsible for lost packages. As a small business, I require a 5% restocking fee for any refund requested before I have started your commission. Once a portrait is in progress, refunds are not accepted as each piece is fully custom.

I always strive to meet a client’s deadline, but please bear in mind that each pet portrait drawing is very detailed and takes time to complete. If you have a strict deadline like a birthday or a wedding anniversary, please get in touch before ordering so I can confirm whether this will be possible.
Lead time varies based on each piece and I will always let you know the estimate for your piece. The current lead time is 2-4 weeks from ordering. If you have a specific deadline, I will try my best to honor that. Please message me with any questions!
